Fly Prescott 10K Effort Taking Off

Help Prescott Regional Airport Fly 10,000 Departing Passengers by Dec. 31, and the City Will Receive Federal Funds for Airport Improvements.

An updated airport is within reach. But the City of Prescott and the Prescott Regional Airport need your help to book 10,000 departing passengers by Dec. 31.

Once the airport reaches 10,000 “enplanements,” or travelers departing from Prescott’s Ernest A. Love Field via United Express operated by SkyWest Airlines, the City of Prescott will be eligible for federal grants up to $20 million, which can be used for improvements to the airport’s infrastructure and services.

However, the funding can’t be unlocked unless 10,000 enplanements are reached by Dec. 31. As of today, the airport is closing in on 7,000 tickets sold, which means it only needs about 3,000 more departing passengers to book their flights before the end of the year. By simply opting to fly out of Prescott this holiday season, on your next business trip or group getaway, you’ll help the airport reach its goal – and help make flying out of Prescott even more convenient in the near future.

To entice travelers to fly out of Prescott and take advantage of the services that are just minutes from home – and include free parking and short TSA lines – the City is offering up some exciting incentives by the way of the Fly Prescott 10Kcampaign.  During the promotion, any passenger who is lucky enough to be a “Milestone Passenger” (departing passenger number 7,000, 8,000, 9,000 or 10,000) will receive a fantastic prize – whichmay range from a night on the town to free roundtrip tickets to Los Angeles or Denver from Prescott. But you can’t win if you don’t fly out of Prescott!

According to airport staff, each goal will likely be met during the following dates (which are subject to change):
• 7,000 – November 18-24
• 8,000 – December 1-7
• 9,000 – December 15-21
• 10,000 – December 24-31

In order to be eligible for prizes – and for their fare to count toward the Fly Prescott 10K goal, all passengers traveling from Prescott must book their trip and depart from Prescott by Dec. 31, 2018. If you’re one of the lucky “Milestone Passengers,” you will be contacted by an official representative of the City of Prescott with instructions on how you can claim your prize.

If you have plans to travel this holiday season, book your flights through United.com and choose to fly out of Prescott Regional Airport (PRC). And be sure to tell your friends and family to do the same. This way, even if you aren’t a “Milestone Passenger,” someone you know may be – and just might let you join them if they win a prize.

Flights to Los Angeles (LAX) or Denver (DEN) and beyond are available now – and hundreds of destinations are available by connection. Book your travel at United.com – and help our entire community by allowing the City of Prescott to unlock funds forairport improvements.
